Mentor Coaching

Mentoring for ICF Credentialing as a Coach

Whether you’re an experienced coach intending to expand your finesse and enliven your skill set or you’re an emerging coach who wants to more fully develop the artistry of your coaching, mentor coaching offers a rich depth of knowledge and skill building within a powerful, safe and transformative learning laboratory.

I approach mentor coaching as a relationship above a process - a shared interaction above a role. Together we move into a paradigm of “being in mentorship with” - a co-created experience in which we’re both co-learners and I do not limit you in your unique expression as a coach.

Mentor coaching is a unique blend of undeniable expertise and exceptional coaching skills that is offered in two formats: one-on-one and small groups. Both formats meet the criteria of the revised ICF Mentor Coaching policy effective with applications submitted on or after Oct. 1, 2011.

You are assured a depth of knowledge, professionalism and competence in our partnership through: [1] my 5,000+ hours of client experience since 1997 as a professional coach; [2] my coach-specific training through ICF ACTPs and CCEs for a total of more than 565 hours; [3] my dedication to excellence as a trainer and assessor of coaches from 1999-present; and, [4] my training and service as an ICF credential assessor/examiner since 2005.

Certified as a Mentor Coach through inviteCHANGE.

My Individual Mentoring Clients Say:
“Amoráh, thank you for the competent and complete feedback and the direct, yet gentle, guidance. I appreciate your help as a mentor, giving me a sounding board for questions beyond the competencies.” - M.K., Virginia

“Amoráh, I want to thank you for your incredible ability to guide me to be the best that I can be, recognizing both the strengths and areas of growth, supporting the spreading of my wings even more, and cheering me on as I begin to fly on my own, all the while accepting me as I am, while envisioning who I can become.” - R.F., California

“I have a clearer understanding of the ICF coaching paradigm and process, and how it differs from the style of coaching I have developed over the years. I’ve learned some truly wonderful metaphors and rules of thumb to help me comprehend and cultivate ICF-style coaching; thank you!” - S.D.W., California
My Group Mentoring Clients Say:

“...I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Amoráh Ross for her amazing leadership in the mentor program that I recently completed. This is another example of the growth of our profession that we now have the need for a course to mentor coaches, not only for the ICF credential but to be the best that they can be.” - Garry Schleifer, Publisher, choice Magazine

“Our conversation has continued to resonate with me this week, and I wanted you to know how powerful it's been. Your perspective on how central curiosity is to the coaching relationship has allowed me to relax into my curiosity and, no surprise; the clients readily generate their own brilliance, actions, and results…and our conversation enabled me to shift back into a mutually trusting relationship with my clients in which they are free to discover what's true for them. Very fun. As much as you are enabling your clients to change the world, I so appreciate that you are also sharing with coaches so you (and we) realize an even greater impact. I can't thank you enough!” - Ann Deaton, Ph.D., PCC, Managing Partner, Bounce

“I want to thank you for the class today.  It’s harder to have perspective on one’s own growth as a coach, but seeing what [my classmate] was able to do today made me acutely aware of how much my coaching is developing as a result of your expert guidance.  It feels like my first classes with [2 different coach training programs] gave me the basics upon which to build ~ and the mentoring is refining those skills.  The image I have in my head is the other classes helping me learn to center the clay on a potter’s wheel, no mean feat if you’ve ever done this; the mentoring class with you is helping me use different tools/techniques and trust my judgment as to how to go forward so that the shape that “wants to come out” does so.” R.F. - California

“Amoráh – You don’t just “model” the competencies and ethics, you truly do live them in all you say and do. And you do it with such compassion and understanding for those of us at our varying levels in the process – masterful. You held a bright, BIG, colorful umbrella over our space of the class and kept out all the unnecessary elements while allowing us to explore in the safety and solidarity of the experience. Your greatest hope has been fulfilled with me; I have definitely ‘taken my coaching to the next level’.” - V.J., California

“I just wanted to share with you how much this class has affected me.  I am being challenged in a way that I have not (ever) been challenged before!  I am learning a lot about myself and truly did not expect this at all.  Thank you for teaching me how to be a better coach and challenging me to learn.  I do appreciate it.  This is good for me.” - Shahrzad (Sherry) Bakhtian Ph.D. ACC, Bakhtian Creative Solutions
