Spring Cleaning – Taking Stock
Adventures in Awareness Issue #6
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.“ - Maya Angelou, poet, civil rights activist, and memoirist (4 Apr 1928-28 May 2014)
With five planets in various stages of retrograde and a New Moon [see ‘Energy Soup’ reports below], I’m sensing that this signifies a time to slow wa-a-a-ay down, rethink and then create anew.
Toward that end, I’m following the wisdom offered in the visual below to take stock of what now makes my life amazing, and then clearing out anything that prevents more amazing things to show up. I invite you to do the same!
CONTINUING THIS ADVENTURE INTO AWARENESS
Ask yourself, “What is amazing about my life right now?” and, “What’s missing, that if included, would make my life even more amazing?”
I invite you to consider these questions and, as you do, notice what new awareness emerges from within you. And please remember to have FUN on that awareness adventure into the question, okay?
Happy exploring!

THE “ENERGY SOUP” REPORT
Since we’re inextricably interconnected to each other, to our planet, and to our universe, here are some of the energies we’re all swimming in together right now:
NEW Moon - Friday, May 6th 12:29 PM [Pacific Daylight Time] ~ New Moon is an optimal time to reflect on where we are and where we want to focus our attention and energies next.
The Power Path ~ An earthy, robust day for having great gratitude for what is different and moving in your life. Celebrate your gifts and be inspired by what you can taste, feel and exchange with others. This is a good day to put your hands into the earth and do some planting either physically or symbolically. Bury the past and face the future with your own values, your own intuition, and your own trust. Ask for our great ally, Mother Earth, to nurture those seeds and help you and your new intentions to grow into the most beautiful blooms.
Stephanie Austin, EcoAstrology ~ This is the third of three Super New Moons in a row, where both solar and lunar gravitational pulls on the Earth are intensified, increasing emotional ebbs and flows in our consciousness as well. We’re now halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice, long celebrated as Beltane and May Day, ancient festivals of fertility and abundance. What do we need, not only to survive, but to thrive? What makes our soul sing and dance? This new moon at 17º Taurus informs us that those answers are best found by listening to our body and our heart. Use the power of this new moon to clarify and commit to what matters most to you.
Madeline Gerwick, Business Astrologer, Polaris Business Guides ~ This is the time to rethink and redo, fix things, clean out those closets, garages, and storage units. Do some Spring cleaning! If you’re feeling frustrated, angry, or resentful it’s time to tell the truth. That stuff cannot remain under the rug any longer. Find your courage…to have that conversation. Not doing so will hold you back.
Cosmic*Intelligence*Agency ~ This New Moon in Taurus is a great time to get grounded in the Earth and in our bodies and to work steadfastly on the foundations of our new life. You can feel the full power of ‘the Bull’ in this Taurean New Moon, with the New Moon making a ‘Grand (Earth) Trine’ out to Retrograde Pluto and (Stationary) Retrograde Jupiter. There is so much raw and vital earth power in this grand trine for work, for building and for growing.
May 2-May 29 is the “Galactic Moon [Month] of Liberation” according to the Galactic Calendar - its energies are dissolve-release-liberation; its Totem Animal is Serpent. “I vow to let go of all worries and anxiety in order to be light and free…Freedom is not given to us by anyone; we have to cultivate it ourselves. It’s a daily practice.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
May Theme - TRUST - The Power Path - Lena & Jose Stevens - We have survived the energies of April (some of us barely) and are now facing a new game, a new dream, new possibilities, a new sense of self and a lot of unknown. Just as powerfully as April shook things up, May provides us with a potent opportunity for changing our game and moving into that new dream we all so desperately want. For some of us it will require a leap of faith and for some simply a willingness to allow new things into our lives in a new way. [Read more…]

Ongoing ENERGY SOUP
Mars Retrograde – Apr 17 2016 - Jun 29 2016 - Stephanie Austin, EcoAstrology - While retrograde in Sagittarius, Mars summons us to re-examine our most fundamental assumptions, question our strategies, and realign with our higher Self. Are we living our life purpose? Are we walking our talk? Where do we need to take a leap of faith?
Mercury Retrograde - Apr 28 - May 22 2016 - Stephanie Austin, EcoAstrology - While retrograde in Taurus, Mercury nudges us to rethink and reorder our priorities. Where do we need to slow down? What would make us happier? Less can be more—less upkeep, less stress, more time and space to do what we love.
Saturn-Neptune Squares – Jun 17 2016; and Sep 10 2016 - Stephanie Austin, EcoAstrology - This Saturn–Neptune square is part of a larger synodic cycle of 36 years. Squares mark important turning points; these are waning squares, considered by Dane Rudhyar ‘a crisis in consciousness,’ where we must re-orient ourselves and release forms which no longer support our growth…Saturn–Neptune squares challenge us to manifest from our essence rather than our ego, and to follow our intuition and inner guidance rather than external authority and convention. We are summoned to spiritual maturity, which entails letting go of martyrdom and victim mentality, blame and guilt, addictions and illusions. By making more time and space in our lives to connect with our higher self, we are able to see where we have been in denial, where we have abdicated our power, and how we can instead live with both integrity and vision, pragmatism and faith. As we engage more with nature, meditation, and the wisdom of our heart, we see through the fears and beliefs that block us from embodying our truth…
Some ways to work with this ongoing Saturn-Neptune square
• Simplify. Less can be more—more time, less hassle.
• Prioritize. A powerful mantra: What is most important in this moment?
• Set realistic goals. Make reminders of what is most important to you.
• Listen to your body. Aches, pains, illness are are messages that we need to make a change.
• Pay attention to your dreams. Both day and night dreams provide valuable pointers.
• Give yourself daily soul time. Meditate, do art, play music, dance, journal, walk, etc.
• Be completely honest. Tell the truth always, with compassion for all concerned.
• “Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty” (Anne Herbert)
• Be in gratitude. Thankfulness opens the heart and the way for more blessings to come.
• And most importantly: “Practice responding to every emotion or thought of fear, anger, resistance, shame, judgement, excitement, or whatever with one word–“interesting”, asking yourselves; “What am I believing that is making me feel this way, is it true?
